Executive Director of Nursing and Quality

Welcome

Hello and thank you for your interest in the role of Executive Director of Nursing and Quality at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust.  I hope you find the information contained within this site useful and interesting.

AWP is a large and diverse specialist mental health and learning disability Trust providing high quality compassionate care to people of all ages living with mental ill health, autism and learning disabilities across Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire.

I am proud to be Chief Executive of AWP and lead an organisation which is committed to improving the lives of the people we serve by delivering outstanding, safe and effective care for all our patients, their families and carers.  However, like other NHS Trusts we are facing significant challenges including growing demand for all of our services, workforce challenges and continuing pressures on our finances.

In response to these challenges, we have embarked up on a programme of transformation to ensure that our services are safe, affordable and, importantly, sustainable for the future.  ‘Outstanding AWP’ aims to deliver Outstanding Care and Sustainable Services, delivered by Outstanding People and in partnership with our patients, carers and system partners, including the two Integrated Care Systems in which we will be operating in.

We are seeking to appoint an Executive Director of Nursing and Quality, who will foster professional pride and develop a Trust-wide approach to nursing provision and embedding a culture of high quality improvement.  You will be accountable for the quality of service throughout AWP and its continuous improvement. You will ensure the development and performance of professional standards for nursing and allied health professionals to deliver the highest standards of mental health and learning disability care.

The role is a voting member of the Board and therefore has a full set of associated corporate responsibilities for all aspects of AWP activities. These include, but are not limited to the setting of strategies, managing delivery, ensuring effective financial performance, managing risk and constructively representing the organisation with external stakeholders.

We are looking for an exceptional leader; someone who shares our values and is committed to listening to the voice of staff, service users and carers and who can motivate and empower people to embrace continuous improvement to deliver a high-quality service. Someone who has professional pride, can lead our Nursing and Quality strategies and motivate people throughout our organisation to give a high quality service to those who need it.  You will have significant experience as a senior nurse or nursing director and be a credible ambassador for mental health services both within our organisation and beyond.

To succeed in this role you will need to use your excellent influencing skills, political acumen, drive for results and your ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.

If this sounds like you, then we would be delighted to hear from you.  If you have any questions, require further information regarding the post or would like a detailed conversation about the post then please contact Julia St Clare at GatenbySanderson on 07807 631564.

I look forward to receiving your application and meeting you during the process.
